Alura Jenson
The person behind the name
Elizabeth Spraggins became known professionally as Alura Jenson before speaking publicly about a change of direction. Her interviews reveal an unusually varied creative background: music lessons, opera singing, charcoal drawing, handmade clothes and an early ambition to become a surgeon. Those interests began long before her film career.
By 2023, she was discussing retirement from partnered adult performance and the development of All Joy Inspired, a coaching business. In a 2024 conversation with the Hodgetwins, she again described herself as retired and spoke about Christian broadcasting. These accounts mark distinct stages in her public life, from performing under a stage name to presenting work as Elizabeth Spraggins.
Skills carried into a new chapterGrowing up between places
Spraggins grew up in a military family, moving between Philadelphia and southern New Jersey. She credited those changing surroundings with teaching her to make her own judgments: different neighbourhoods brought different personalities, customs and expectations. Independence became a recurring theme in her recollections of childhood.
Her father later worked in construction and particularly enjoyed building houses. At home, practical projects sat alongside music and art. She remembered making miniature houses with her sisters from spare materials, experimenting with paint, plaster and plumbing while their parents set limits on the more ambitious ideas.
Music as a first language
Her father introduced her to music when she was very young, bringing home instruments and teaching her to understand composition. She recalled writing a symphony at nine and studying soprano opera singing until seventeen. These are memories of her own musical education, rather than a claim to a professional concert career.
Singing remained part of her adult life. In 2023 she described regular karaoke outings and choosing playlists to change her mood or regain motivation. Her listening ranged across Whitney Houston, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Disturbed, Korn, Live and Boyz II Men, combining powerful voices with rock and rhythm.
Drawing, making and adapting
Charcoal was one of the materials through which she learned to draw. Her father encouraged her to look for shapes within an image and understand how those shapes could be recreated on paper. She said that drawing continued into adulthood, together with an appreciation for other people’s artistic ability.
At about ten, she also began making clothes. Learning to customise and alter existing garments gave that interest a practical use, and she said she still made such alterations in 2023. Childhood play extended into theatre too: she and her sisters devised plays and operas, combining their interest in building things with performance.
An early interest in science
Watching her mother train as a nurse prompted a fascination with medical work. Chemistry, anatomy, physiology and microbiology became particular interests. She recalled reading medical reference books for pleasure and seeking first-aid training while imagining a future in surgery.
That ambition took a different course. In her 2016 interview she described wanting to become a cardiovascular surgeon; in 2023 she explained that family responsibilities had changed her plans. Her account reflects a sustained interest in science, without establishing that she completed medical school or practised as a surgeon.
The name and the working life
Her route into filmed adult entertainment followed work as a club dancer and an introduction to OC Modeling. The name Alura came from an unexpected place: on the journey to her first shoot, she noticed a high-rise building called the Allure and used it as inspiration for a screen name.
Running a business became part of that working life. In 2016 she described the time needed for administration and logistics, as well as speaking to an audience through live broadcasts. Away from work, her preferred break was time at home with family. She named Saving Private Ryan as a favourite film.
A change in public direction
The later interviews record a deliberate transition. In 2023 she described moving away from partnered adult performance and preparing a different professional life. Her renewed Christian faith was one of the reasons she gave for that decision, alongside concerns about the direction of her former work.
A 2024 Hodgetwins appearance returned to that change. Speaking as Elizabeth Spraggins, she said she enjoyed making Bible-study broadcasts and explaining passages in ways that could engage people who found conventional presentations difficult to follow. Broadcasting remained a familiar medium, while its subject and purpose had changed.
